So in 1816 William Langley son of Obadiah is at least 21.   Therefor he must have been born by 1795....and therefore his father Obadiah b. by 1775 and therefore John of John & Rebecca b. ca. 1750.  Actually I think we have John's age as born  1744....so all of that works out okay in my mind.

Where is William Langley though in the census of say 1810 or 1820?

Ernie - Hazael - Guess my comments are my two cents worth!

I see here that Collins is the s/o John/Rebecca, and as this shows the difference enough in ages that my John Tarpley and Hazael's James could not be s/o John/Rebecca.  That being said, just who this Joseph is a toss up.  What age would we judge him to be, at least 21 purchasing land, right?

Collins s/o John/Rebecca
John M s/o Collins
Mark Collins s/o John M
Is Yvonne's family line.

The William L signing the indenture is s/o Obediah - William Langley.
This time frame is too late to be Jos/Val.  Jos/Val are in TN before this time.

Who is the John Boldin found in Laurens Co SC for 1810 p.55 im 65 of 76?

I don't know that we have truly identified all the John's in Greenville Co. SC 1810.  I've studied the various "B" listings for the first years of censuses and can't say that I have identified them all.  But I do believe once we start nailing the identity of these listings we will get closer to the truth of our families.

Recorded for the 29 day October 1822.

Collin Bolding is found in the 1830 census of McMinn County, TN, page 195.
1830 Census, McNinn County, TN, Image 129
1 male 5 to10
1 male 10 to15
1 male 15 to 20
3 males 20 to 30
1 male 50 to 60
1 female 15 to 20
1 female 40 to 50

The 50-60 male and female are Collin and wife. My John M. is already married and in Alabama with children. These numbers represent anyone that may be in the house at the time the census-taker was calling. Therefore, some could be grandchildren, in-laws, or unmarried children.

1840 Census Polk County, Tennessee, page 12 (Polk County, Tennessee formed from McMinn County, Tennessee)

1 male under 5
1 male 5-10
1 male 15-20
2 males 20-30
1 male 60-70
1 female under 5
1 female 15-20
2 female 30-40

The male 60-70 is Collin Bowling. His wife is not there so she has died since 1830. The other males and females shown are probably grandchildren and a daughter or daughter-in-law who is looking after him. Collin is not shown on the census after this. He probably died between 1840 and 1850.
