The DNA of one James Bolling w. Elizabeth who died in Pittsylvania Co. VA Will ca. 1771/2 is the ancestor of the John Bolling & Rebecca Rhea line and numerous Group 5 folks have DNA tested back to him. He is thought to be the same James [2] who traded land with Christopher Bolling back in Goochland Co. VA much earlier. Christopher's descendants have also tested DNA group 5. The original James Bolling [1] is thought to be the ancestor [and immigrant] of these by the paper trail....but it has not been proven by DNA or by even firm evidence. The evidence is circumstantial...but there are many connections that seem to implicate that it is true ie connecting families etc. And certainly it appears that both the James [2] and the Christopher who traded lands both have descendants with Group 5 DNA. There were other sons of this james 1771/2 will...William being one...and there may be other lines yet to be found.
[Ernie, and Diane....I hope; I said this correctly...and please correct any errors you might find herein as I am writing this totally off the top of my head! Hazael

What is the relationship of John Bolling of Sullivan Co. TN b. 1756 and Christopher Bolling d. 1780?
Is Christopher "Bolling" the only child of James "Bowling"?
I wish it could be written on how we found "James Bowling" and how the DNA produced him. I tried to go the 'Bolling 5.com' web site and it is under construction.
