[Bolling5] Fw: BOWLING--Do these connect to us??

Tandy [Walker I think was his middle name] Bolling and Helen McKnight are both
in Larry Bowling of Group 2 DNA's lineage.     Their grandfather farmed family
land in Marshall co. Miss.    They were also in Lawrence Co. Ala.

When  Barbara Pendergast checked out the Mitchell also there in Marshall, I
believe she found no connection to her Mitchell.   I think she thought 2
separate men named Mitchell Bolling.

I have copied to her and to Larry for clarification.

All,
It was Mitchell Boling of Group 6 who went to the Memphis, TN area for a few
years before 1840 and then to Marshall, MS. I don’t know all his children, but
he and wife Nancy had at least 10. Here’s what I have in my notes about this guy
– I also don’t know if you can connect any of the folks you mention to this
family. Son Marion was supposedly born near Memphis. His descendant tested for
DNA.:
---
Mitchel Bolin was on Capt. Harvey's district 1815 tax list of Randolph County,
NC as one white poll on 200 acres Little River. [informant: Ora Callcott, 3016
Royalton, Greensboro, NC 27406 in 1992...related to Benjamin, grandson of Benj &
Sarah Hancock Boling through their son Benjamin who md. P.Callicoat.]
---
Mitchell Bollin along with William and John Bolling (Bolin) were on a 1779 tax
list of Randolph Co, NC.   (693)   Mitchell Boling along with Wm. and John were
on a 1779 tax list (of Jacob Shepard) of Randolph Co NC. All three would have to
be 21 years old or older so all born by 1758 and therefore he could not be the
son of Benjamin Bolling born 1754   [informant also Ora Callicott.]
---
Mitchell Bolling was listed in the Hawkins Co., TN 1836 tax list in Civil
District 11. Isaac Boling, who is supposed to be Mitchell's brother, was also
listed there.  According to Barbara Pendergrast, Mitchell Boling sold land in
Hawkins Co. in Sept. 1837. His land adjoined land once owned by Isaac Boling.
Mitchell & family moved to western Tennessee and then to Marshall, MS by 1840.
Isaac was married to Mary Coltrane and moved to Owen Co., IN.

Group 7 Melba, Joyce and Charlene wonder if the AL-MS-TN Bowling folks Charlene
found below are known to any of the Group 5 researchers.  Without doing further
research, we do not connect them with Group 7.

Nothing that I see here, or have on my files, show a connection here.  Did you
pass this by Doris or Hazael, as I know they had Bowlings in that section of
north Alabama (Franklin Co., I believe), and Lawrence Co. (where George W.
Bowling married 1st time) is adjacent to Franklin County.
