Diane,
I can't place my fingers on it this minute, but I have a copy from a page in a book that lists the marriage. That is why I was hoping someone from this list would have access to research materials to find out more.

Thomas Bouldin says he bought the land on Leatherwood and is giving it to Joseph, his son. Burt Bostick, of BFA who is in charge of the Wills has the complete will ----- I sent it to him many years ago. I know this seems odd that these Bouldin's are on Leatherwood of all places, but the will is clear.

It would have still been in Pittsylvania County when it was surveyed, but would have been in Henry in 1781, the grant date. The clerk who wrote the grant probably just failed to update the name of the county. Franklin County was formed in 1786 so this parcel would have been in Franklin County after that date.

I have Solomon Bowlin marrying Lucinda Rogers (Rodgers) in 1825. If I remember correctly, I was told the guarantor/trustee was a man named Taylor (I think!) Here is a little more detail:
>
> Family information: Solomon Bowlin (Boulin) married to Lucinda Rogers in Obion County, Tennessee in June of 1825. I believe that she was born around 1810. She and Solomon moved to Shelby County, Texas and appear in the 1835 Census under the name Baling (misspelled!). Solomon died in 1835 or 1836 and Lucinda took her 4 children, William H., James, Mary Ann and Anna with her to central Texas (Austin/Georgetown area) and she remarried several times, once to a Willis, then to a McCall. There is a legend about Solomon having been hung for horse thievery.

> Yes, the Joseph Bowlings are definitely pesky! I must admit Joseph Bouldin was on the Leatherwood. If the Joseph on the head of Chestnut Creek, a branch of Town Creek, is ours, I cannot figure out why Valentine wouldn?t have relinquished her dower ? unless they weren?t married yet. However I have guesstimated that they would have likely married in the late 1770?s, but I really can?t say for sure since we don?t have exact dates for the children?s births. If Rosemary?s David Bolin is theirs, he was born in 1780.
