[Bolling5] Easleys on the 1800 Greenville Dist. Census

The DNA testing that has been done is usually paid for by the person who wants the information. My Sizemore and Reynolds Groups have some designated leaders. Everyone researches to the best of their ability, but then, they are assisted by the leaders. The leaders decide which ancestor needs to be confirmed next. Then they put out a call for a descendant of that individual to be tested. All members assist them in finding a descendant to be tested. Then they assist in persuading that individual to be tested. If that individual has the money and wants to pay, they pay. If they neither have the money nor the desire, a donation is taken up by the group. I contribute. We want to know our heritage in our lifetime. An amazing amount of information has been uncovered. And...................none of it is blind alleys or brick walls. We don’t end up researching a paper trail of someone we are not related to.

No, the Bolling Family Association could never get into that....and I don't think they should. It would totally drain their precious little funds. And if folks don't really care enough to take the test, then they aren't going to do the reseach that needs to go with it. It is a two sided street....testing and paper trail.

Yvonne, Group 5 DNA from Collins Bolling, had an Epps connection down in Franklin Co. Ala. The man Marvil Epps b. 1788 in NC and his family live next door to Collins Bolling. And you know, we have a Marvil Bolling in Jefferson co. ala. also in Group 5 DNA I believe....so I personally think it all harkens back to the Marvil Mosley that is mentioned in the Essex/Middlesex records that also talk about Beverly Daniel and the Tarpleys.

My particular line also intermarries with the Daniel family also....James Tarpley Bolding m. Docia Daniel as his 2nd wife.

Good point Hazael! How does that work...does the Bolling Family Assoc. have any money available to help finance a Y-DNA test? It's been my experience that folks won't do it if they have to pay for the test themselves.

No, Mike, and I think I would have noticed as one of my best friends is Kathy Aiken [m. Osborne]. But look at that date....1914. They might have someone who could take a DNA test.
