[Bolling5] Marriage of Griffin-Bowling

All,

See the below reunion to be held in Fayette Co. Ala. in Oct. with a Bowling
family connection.   Perhaps the Wanda at the bottom could shed some lite.
Also, in Googling Fayette Co. I see that the town of Winfield is mentioned.
In one of our family letters that town is mentioned I believe [will have to
check] to see ....and so they could be my line of Group 5 folks.

Supposedly one of my line had a widow Bolding who ran a hotel there.

Also this from the cemetery near to the Glen Allen Methodist church:

96/09    BOWLING, Anna - Apr 6, 1879 - Jul 1, 1912

96/06    BOWLING, Infant of W.L. & Alma Bowling - b./d. Oct 15, 1913

95/30    BOWLING, K.J. (Mrs.) - Jul 27, 1838 - Dec 7, 1916

95/26    BOWLING, M.C. - Apr 26, 1830 - Dec 30, 1903

Aldridge / Canterbury / Bowling / Lee / Berryhill ~ October 29

Aldridge • Canterbury • Bowling
Lee • Berryhill Reunion

Saturday
October 29, 2011
Glen Allen Methodist Church Basement
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
(or until the football game begins, if one is scheduled)

The Church once again invites us all for this potluck gathering.
They are pleased to have us use the facilities in the basement
and we are pleased to be gathering there.  Let someone know if you have
alternate ideas for a meeting place.  In memory of every loved one in the
cemetery,
we will make a donation to the Cemetery Upkeep Fund as we have in past years.

We hope everyone is well and you can plan to join us Aldridges
for a family reunion.  Pass the word to any relatives, and come have lunch
(we have some really good cooks in the family) and visit with us for a brief
time
if you can’t stay long.  The get-together will be especially important after
worrying about
so many relatives in Alabama’s stormy spring.  I am glad to report
that all I heard from are well and, we hope, are back to a normal existence now.

Let’s celebrate birthdays with novelty gifts this year.
If you are a man, please bring a man’s birthday gag gift.
If you are a woman, bring a woman’s birthday gag gift.
Don’t spend more than $2 or $3 (less is even better) for the gift.
We want to see everyone and exchange birthday greetings and gifts and news
of how we are all doing.  So, whether your birthday is in February or in the
fall,
let’s be proud of all of those earlier years (and surprised when we hear the
number).
And guessing when someone’s birthday is should entertain us for a while.
Let’s hope for good health for everyone (no emergencies)
and good weather for all of us near and far.

See you on Saturday, 29 October, in Glen Allen.
Whoever gets to the location first, the back basement door
sticks and is difficult to pull open – we have often thought it was locked,
but it was just stuck.  The front doors are sometimes unlocked, other times not
(bathrooms are near the front door).
Plan to eat about noon, but come earlier and stay later to visit.
There might be (not gag)  presents for some ‘birthday’ people.

Sheila --
Would you mind separating the lines for us --- show us the surnames which
connect to the Bolling line, if you will please.  Thanks.

It piqued  my interest because our Harrison Boling’s DNA matched a Kirkland.
