There is a Harris Family Cemetery in Huntsville, AL where my great great
grandfather Peter Efford Bentley is buried. He was married to Elizabeth
Bolling Gay, a direct descendant of Robert Bolling I through Col. John
Bolling. I have visited the cemetery which is in a grove of trees outside of
Huntsville. The DAR has put markers on Peter Efford's and Elizabeth Bollings
graves.

If you Google Peter Efford Bentley, the cemetery will come up and the
Harris who is buried there. I think he probably was a relative of Francis
Eppes Harris.

Belva --
You sent this to GenForum in 2007 [below]. I have a feeling that Richard
Brown, who owned land on Difficult Creek, was married to James Rea's
daughter. See A.D,'s files for James Rea's will. The Hudsons were from Hanover
and married Bunch.... which intermarried with Bollings a few generations
later. Do you know anything about these Browns? They were from Goochland
weren't they?

Hazael, not Adlar David in Belva's notes. John Bolling was his
overseer.... not likely to be a Group 1 Bolling.

can someone tell me more about this william irby who would have been
involved with my harris family and the hudsons, per this info below?

was this the same irby family who also moved to laurens co, sc?

per the info and will of john brown, who died 1753 lunenburg co, va, this
jesse brown of lunenburg co, va involved in this suit with alexander cocke
of amelia co, va, which also involved richard ellis and hampton wade, was
the brother of richard brown, who died in 1773 in brunswick co, va, wife,
frances sexton/ saxon.

i am interested that this was my william harris/ judith hudson, who along
with richard brown witnessed this brunswick co, va deed re william irby to
andrew wade.

again, per info already cited, samuel harris, executor of the estate of
adlar david in 1750 in lunenburg co, va sold to robert wade, sr land on
difficult creek that bordered on william irby.

per lunenburg co, va deed book 5, page 346, 1750, samuel harris, executor
of the estate of adlar david, sold to robert wade, sr 100 acres on
difficult creek adjacent william irby. witnesses: hampton wade; richard ellis.

lunenburg co, va court orders book 1, page 196, last will of adlar david:
samuel harris, executor; andrew wade and henry wade are  witnesses;
cornelius cargill and andrew wade give security, 1749.

also  from lunenburg co, va court orders book 1, page 196: william irby;
peter hudson; luke smith; and edward parker appraise the estate of adlar
david, 1749.

per lunenburg co, va deed book 7, page 148, 1760, re the estate of
alexander cocke of amelia co, va: as there has been many disputes; controversies
between alexander cocke of amelia co, va and with jesse brown of lunenburg
relating to lands, richard ellis; abraham cocke; and stephen cocke,
executors, enter in a bond with jesse brown to abide by the division by henry ward
in amelia co and of lydall bacon in lunenburg and if they disagree, hampton
wade is to hear the disputes; it is ordered that the executors of
alexander cocke pay jesse brown 90 pds, and to deliver to brown an order from
francis smithson for 90; the quarrels between the parties must abate. signed:
lydall bacon; hampton wade.

Indenture made 3 December 1745 between William Irby of
Brunswick County and Andrew Wade of Goochland County, ?60, 500a,
250a of the said Land being granted to William Gent by Patent
lying on North side of Dan River on both sides of the Horsford
Creek; other 242a being granted to Peter Mitchell by Patent.
Signed William Irby. Witnesses: Wm. Harris, Richard Brown.
Court March 6, 1745, Indenture acknowledged by William Irby.
Deed Book 3, Page 162.

i am interested that this was my william harris/ judith hudson, who
witnessed this deed re william irby to andrew wade??

again, i am trying to learn/ confirm, as this info has indicated to me,
that my william harris, sr/ frances goode, daughter of mackerness goode, sr
of lunenburg co, va and this samuel harris involved with the wades, etc were
william harris/ judith hudson's sons, william harris and samuel harris,
per william harris/ judith hudson's will 1778 mecklenburg co, va.

see also to follow my interest also in the brown/ sexton/ saxon family re
our harris family.

thanks for any help.

Lucretia Warnock was my great great grandmother, married to John Porter
Bolding. I can find no death records for her but it is believed that she
died on the trip moving to Texas and is buried somewhere in Alabama.

Andrew Warnock is the father of Lucretia Warnock who marries into Hazael's
line....Lucretia marries John T.[Porter] Bolding who is the brother of my
Andrew P. Bolding both of Franklin Co. Ala. and later John T. Bolding is
in Itawamba or Tishimingo[1850-60] [can't remember which] Miss. and
eventually moves to Texas Corn Hill Texas. His letters back to my family are
posted at our website...and he is the ancestor of JoAnn Niedecken.

There is also a Weatherby - Warnock connection of a relatiave of
Doris'....but I don't think she has a Warnock in her direct line. BUT...SHE CAN
TELL US!

I just sent to Hazael and Doris some research by Linda Sparks Starr [who
also researches Christopher Clark] an interesting article on Thomas and
William Orr mentioning Doris' Warnocks and Hazael's Pickens at this website
which ties to the following folks then in Pendleton Dist., SC around
Twenty-Three Mile Creek:

Go here: http://www.rowberry.org/rickhsite/orrh2.htm

The above info ties with something I sent back in 2009 which I had
forgotten. See below:

o find Welcome William Hodges descendants; I don't think this is Edmund

am going to add a couple of Greenville & Pendleton SC Deeds to this

only found this deed recently. I am nearly positive that he is my
ames Bolling m. Anne Pickens who in 1810 census 3 years after this lives
djacent to the below deed of William Parris wife Darcus Pickens. The
men
ere married to sisters. NOTE: He clearly says James Bolling is of
reenville Dist. SC in 1807 so in 1800 census he should be in either
ashington or in Greenville [Washington going back & forth with
Greenville.] AND
t is my belief that in 1820 John Bolding is living on this same land near
obert Pickens.
They are too near the same ages to be father & son...so I think he is
oris' John Bolding the brother.]

o where is my James in 1820? I just do not know.

4646. Nov. 13, 1820 William Parris [Paris] to John Pegg [Pendleton

44647. Oct. 12, 1821 Joseph Leech [Pendleton Dist.] to John Smith
same]; for $300 sold 140 ac. by computation on waters of Twenty-three

xamined by John T. Lewis, cc & RMC, book P. p. 433.

Hazael's comment: from the 1820 census you can figure out that this John

olding was living near to my Robert Pickens and I believe him to be
oris' ancestor the John Bolding brother to my James. I am thinking she
has
onfirmed this from the ages of the children listed.] My James is no
onger living there in that census.] Don't know for sure where he is.]

oon I will send the deeds that show that part of this land of Wm. Hoges
s owned by Martin Hewlett whose wife is Jane Moseley who was daughter of
osely who married Martha Hodges.] So I assume Hoges is same name as
odges.] Also Martin Hewlett lived in 1800 census near to Greens,
Pleasant &
homas Easley, John Bowlen & Obadiah Bowlen & the Ayers folks - Wm. &
oseph Ayers, also Hugh Roark. I personally think this was perhaps
ashington Dist. at the time. Not positive about that. Seems like I
read it
someplace. Remember Roarks connect to Joe. & Valentine Haley Bolling.
